Yoroichi pushed her cake to the side. "And," she muttered, picking up her cocoa, "people wonder why I loath L." She crossed her legs at the knee and sighed, sipping her drink. She really did hate L. She never had a reason to before except for that he took Number Five away from her. Now, though.. The fact that he lied and said he didn't know who killed Tyson.... That was the cherry on the ice cream. Because that man had the audacity to lie to one of his successors.
She sneered coldly, talking another drink of her cocoa. She set it down and crossed her arms over her chest. She hated L with a burning passion. And she desperately wanted him dead. But she'd be damned if she was going to do it. And that brought her train of thought to the Kira case. She had a gross suspicion of who was the Original Kira but she refused to tell L whom she knew knew that she knew who Kira was.

" I know we said no Kira talk, but I believe that he might have helped me in a case a while back. One of my cases in Japan." Kibeki said low enough that only Yoroichi could hear him. Kibeki decided to get something to eat. He went up to the counter, ordering some pastry that he had the other day. Kibeki handed over his card, he signed it quickly with only his last name; simply Kyou.

Yoroichi stared at the table as Kibeki left. She wondered how Near would take it, her loving another that wasn't him. He probably wouldn't care; Near didn't love her anyways. To him, she was probably just another girl. Maybe not even that. Maybe she was just another genius, not worthy of a gender. She tasted bile and her thoughts trailed back to Kira. Kira... The word sent butterflies into her stomach and almost brought a smile to her face. Kira...
He was hers, once, Kira. Or rather, Kira's previous person was hers. They had been insanely in love and L took him from her because of that. What next?! L would take Near. She knew it. L would take Near! Because she loved Kira. He had been everything and something else to her. Her hand snatched out and closed around her cup, bringing it to her lips so she could calm down.

Near watched the object of his affections curiously. She seemed to be hurting. And now he was alone with her. He glanced at Kibeki who was getting his food. Near took another sip of his cocoa and looked back at Yoroichi who was now taking a drink of her drink. He sighed and offered her his hand.
"If you need anything, you must remember that Kibeki, Mello, Matt, and I are here for you," he told her. He didn't say L because, if he looked at it from her point of view, L was a lying, back stabbing ponce who needed to off himself or better yet be offed by Kira. That was, he assumed, how Yoroichi saw things. "Okay?"

Yoroichi looked up from her drink, her brows furrowed in confusion. Why would he...? Well, her distress was obvious, she mused, what with thinking about Number Five and all. Hesitantly, almost robotically, she placed her hand in his, relishing at the contact. She nodded once.
"Yes..." She offered a smile. "I believe you, Near."

Kibeki walked over with his food and sat back down, taking off the mask to eat. " So do we all agree that L is probibly going to be picked off by Kira?" Kibeki asked waiting to see his comrads reactions. Kibeki noticed that the waiter was just looking at the table, bet he's never seen three Whammy Children, together, like this. Ryuga said noticing that a Whammy Child was heading towards the cafe.You think Near's going to ask about the scars Ryuga said making Kibeki look at the youngest of the group. " Near you forgot Ryuga, he will also help." Kibeki said, watching out the window for L, he did come this way every now and then.

Yoroichi gave a snide sneer. L picked off by Kira? Hardly. More like L destoryed and defamed by Kira. Kira-Kun, Number Five, would out L, make him the fraud he truly was to the world, and then, in a typical Five Fashion, L would be dead. Deformation of pride was really Number Five's way out of things. And she would make her opinion known.
"Hardly," she snorted, her hand tightening in Near's. "Hardly, hardly, hardly. If I know Five," she paused, "he'll make L's life hell before killing the bastard. Besides," she brought Near's pale hand to her lips and winked at the object of her affections, her voice breathy and barely audible even in the nigh silent cafe, "I especially like a show-off. I'm sure Five will play my game, not L's or his own."

Kibeki started to laugh, not loud enough to attract unwanted attention, but loud enough to be audible. " I was correct then, it was him. Kibeki and Ryuga said at the same time. Kibeki then stopped and looked at Yoroichi,Yagami is Kira, what a surprise. No wonder Ryuuk was always around him. Ryuga whispered laughing as well. " So defamed , good. L has caused to much trouble, however he told me that I would get my revenge on Skye corps. He was lieing then too heh." Kibeki said getting more and more pissed at L.

Yoroichi rubbed the back of Near's hand with her palm, waiting anxiously for his opinions. She glanced at Kibeki. He knew Ryuuk. He knew Ryuuk. He knew Ryuuk. That was the vibe her Better Half recieved. He knew Ryuuk, that bastard Shinigami that abandoned Yoroichi around the time L stole Five.
"L is a lying bastard!" she hissed. "A lying, backstabbing bastard!" Her lips curled into a sneer and she dropped her gave to Near's hand. She was trash talking Near's role model here... How would he take it? He would take it like Near would take it, that's for sure. Apathetically, non-caring? Or would he get upset and leave? So many options and the longer time ticked by, the more Yoroichi's heart felt like it would break.
She couldn't help it, though. Yoroichi had claimed Five as her own. And L tried to claim Five as his own. Yoroichi hated when people tried to take what was clearly hers. Like Near. And Ryuuk. And Five. They all belonged to her. And only her. Near had to know that. He had to understand. If he left her, she would most likely shatter. All who captured her left her, whether by force or will was a completely different matter, but still...
"Near? What do you think?" she questioned almost inaudibly.

Near withdrew his hand from Yoroichi. She had to be lying! It was her! L would never betray the Whammy's Children by lying to them! Yoroichi and Kibeki... They wanted to over-throw L! So they were lying to get Near on their side!
But, the rational part of his brain whispered teasingly, would Ichi lie to you?
No... Yoroichi would never lie to Near, of that fact Near was certain. But... L. He trusted L. He trusted L with his life. L's word was the one he trusted; before he even remotely liked Yoroichi, everything she said had to be backed up by L's affirmative or negative to what she said. L was number One. Yoroichi -Hell, even Near- had nothing on L. So Yoroichi was lying. There was no other option short of L being the liar. And he wouldn't accept that. He pushed Kibeki from the booth and slid out himself, sneering coldly at the girl he loved.
"You're lying," he said curtly. He nodded, as if to reassure himself. "L would never betray the Whammy's Family like you say." With that, he turned and walked from the cafe, not daring to look back and see the garunteed hurt that would be on Yoroichi's face. He couldn't. So he ran. He ran and ran and ran, far away as quickly as possible. Back home. Back to L. Where L was waiting...

Kibeki picked himself up, who knew that Near was so strong. " L, will betray him; just like he betrayed us." The cold whisper of the main and his alter echoed throughout the booth. Kibeki looked and noticed that he sensed another presence around the girl sitting across from him, " do you want to go and get him?" Kibeki asked motioning towards the direction Near went; Kibeki noticed that a noted assualter was following the younger teen. " We might want to help him." Kibeki mentioned pointing out the criminal following Near.

Kibeki's voice didn't register. Nothing mattered anymore. Nothing. They're gone. The voice was firm in her mind. It was a firm traitorous whisper in the back of Yoroichi's mind. Her eyes fell to her lap and her hands fell limply against the table. She had been abandoned. All that was hers was no longer hers. It wasn't fair! What had she done to diserve this? Who did she pisss off in a past life that would curse her now?! And she felt the tears. Her hands moved on auto to cover her face and her body wracked with silent sobs.
There was nothing she could do. There was nothing left for her. He abandoned her. She continued to shake but kept her lips pressed together lest she cause a scene. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
She gave a choked laugh. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned," she whispered. "If i ever get my hands on him," she couldn't stop the tears, "I'll tear him apart. Do what you will, Kibeki... Leave me too!" Her last sentance was hysteric but it begged Kibeki not to leave her alone. She begged him to stay with her no matter what.

Kibeki said noticing that despite her words she wanted him to stay.So you do like her.Ryuga whispered to his other self.No she just needs someone to stay, everyone else has left her; but not us.Kibeki answered Ryuga quickly. Kibeki stood up and moved over to stand next to Yoroichi. Kibeki was wondering about what Ryuga said, deciding to think more about it later. " Lets go, you need some fresh air." Kibeki said holding out his hand to help Ichi up.

Yoroichi took his hand and pulled herself out of the booth, her other hand moving up to wipe the tears and the tracks they left behind from her eyes. The great thing about Kibeki, she mused as she set a few pounds on the table, was that he always knew what you were really trying to say. It made her life a lot easier that she could say one thing, mean the other, and have someone understand what she really meant. She offered Kibeki a grateful smile. She was glad to have him as a friend and was glad he was here but... Having Near would make it a lot easier on her stressed out mind. Maybe they shouldn't have told Near about the true L.
"He left," she said, her voice cracking at the end. "He left because we... Lied?" her tone was questioning. They lied to Near? That was so odd.

" He left because he is confused, on one hand the person he loves is telling him that the person he looks up to is the complete opposite." Kibeki said leading Yoroichi out the door into the cold air. Kibeki noticed the tears and handed her a hankercheif, " lets take a walk, it usually helps." He said waiting for her answer.
